Students of YSU Faculty of International Relations in National Assembly
1 / 18

Sedrak Muradyan is a fourth-year student at YSU Faculty of International Relations. He is one of the citizens for whom it was attractive to visit the National Assembly. It was also important for his fellow students being in the number one political tribune of the country. And it was the reason that they gave preference to the legislative body among the state structures for a professional practice.

Sedrak finds that the practice shall be in this building, because all the processes taking place in this country comes from here: “The building of the NA has a different look from outside. There is a wrong opinion about the deputies as if they work less. Meanwhile, today I became convinced that a lot of extensive and serious work is done here.

The students will have different meetings with the MPs in parliament till April 7, will take part in the debates, will get acquainted with the works of the NA subdivisions.

On March 26, the students met with the NA Vice President Vahe Enfiajyan and the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan.

The students were interested in the war and post-war events from Enfiajyan and in the inner- political processes taking place in the country. They also asked questions on the snap parliamentary elections.

The Deputy Speaker noted that their faction would take part in the parliamentary elections.

Touching upon the solution of the issue of Artsakh, Enfiajyan has noted that he sees the settlement of the issue in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship: “We must always be strong, vigilant and never underestimate the enemy”.

Babken Tunyan presented to the future diplomats the structure of the NA Standing Committees, circulation of the bills, the procedure of holding the sittings.

The guests were interested in the price increases, in the economic problems emerged after the war and the versions of their solutions from the Chair of the NA Standing Committee.

Tunyan has noted that the only reason of the economic crisis has not been the war. The pandemic has had its negative influence on the economy of both Armenia and a lot of countries: “I think from the second quarter of this year we will be able to return to the pre-crisis situation and we will have a stable economy by the end of the next year, and the economic growth will already be registered in our country next year.

YSU student Oksanna Balayan noted: “I am a future diplomat and I have gained some political knowledge from these meetings, have expanded my political horizon. Listening to different opinions, I shape my own opinion.”
